Indian Population in the U.S stands at 2,319,222 in 2005 (2.3 million)

Indian Population grew 38% from 2000-2005 highest for any community

• Mid-decade, the total Asian population of the United States has grown to 12.4 million, a 23% increase over the Census 2000 benchmark

• The three fastest growing Asian populations are, in rank order, Asian Indians, Vietnamese, and Filipinos.

• Based on Asian population growth rates in the last few years, Asian Indians continue to slightly outnumber Filipinos, and now comprise the second largest Asian population in the country, after Chinese.
